Frank Rossi was a cherished Napa local whose legacy lives on through both the landmarks he preserved and the lives he touched. Best known as the heart behind Rossi Grocery Deli—once a favorite neighborhood stop across from St. John’s—Frank welcomed generations of children with penny candy and a warm smile. The deli, originally started by his father, John Rossi, was a cornerstone of the community, and Frank proudly carried on the family tradition, honoring his Italian roots and the values instilled by his parents, John and Louisa Rossi.
But Frank was more than a grocer—he was a true craftsman, a dreamer, and a man of many passions. An avid Ford restorer, he lovingly brought countless Model As and Model Ts back to life, preserving a piece of American history with each restoration. He also had a need for speed, racing powerboats in his younger years with the same enthusiasm and precision he brought to everything he did. Whether in the shop, on the water, or behind the deli counter, Frank brought joy, purpose, and integrity to his work. His memory lives on in the stories shared, the engines that still run, and the enduring warmth of the community he helped build.
